We are hosting our 4th Corporate Challenge in 2009!  Last years event was an success and the Corporate and family teams that participated had an unforgettable experience.  Not only did they participate in the unique and fast growing sport of outrigger canoeing, but they created a bond that made them communicate better at work and feel like they had something in common.  Just like having a common goal of moving your company, group, family or friends forward. Paddling in a 45 ft, 300 lb, 6- person canoe seems to bring out the best in everyone.

Imagine 5 co-workers, family members, friends, paddling against other teams in a battle to prove you have what it takes to be #1 in the state of Texas!

Now them are some BIG bragging rights!  You and your crew will race 500 meters or about 1/4 mile.  It takes less than 3 minutes to get from point “A” to point “B”, and claim the trophy. (Average taken between 2 races)

The Hoewa’a Dallas Outrigger Canoe Club is the only non-profit Hawaiian outrigger canoe club in North Texas. Our club was created to bring awareness to the sport of Hawaiian outrigger canoeing and it’s Hawaiian roots.  Hoewa’a supports and conducts multiple athletic competitions in Dallas, Austin and Houston; as well as out of state races. The ancient sport comes from a Hawaiian tradition and flourishes with over 300,000 paddlers and 500 clubs  world wide.  Now is your chance to be a part of the excitement!
